24 2011 A successful
Salon Privé at a new venue. This
year Salon Privé moved to the beautiful surroundings of Syon Park with
Syon House as the backdrop. With more space than the Hurlingham Club it gives
the event room to grow. Not to be outshone by the gardens the cars on display
glimmered in all their glory. The
star of the Jaguars was probably the Eagle Speedster, virtually handbuilt with
a price tag of £500k. The more affordable Jaguars included a very early
E type roadster, a commerative V12 roadster and a Mark 2 carrying the registration
number BUY 1 made famous by John Coombs. 
The
newly released XKR-S, an XK convertible, an XF and an XJ saloon representing the
modern Jaguars completed the line-up. In
addition to some stunning Jaguars there were Ferraris, Facel Vega, Rolls Royces
and even a Messerschmitt three wheeler. Also a magnificent display of Porsches
with Derek Bell MBE in attendance. The
